Raw food means uncooked in this situation. It allows for better nutrition from the foods consumed, as cooking damages some of the nutrients in food (those that are sensitive to heat, like many of the vitamins).

Some folks initially have trouble eating so much raw food, but it is something you get used to, or you can start by simply adding more raw fruits and vegetables to your existing diet.

I haven't found bacteria or parasites to be a problem for me, probably since all my raw foods are plant-based.

Cheers!

Hello! I found your website through a bunch of links.
I'm not really familiar with the "raw" food intake, except probably for Japanese sashimi, which I love like anything but had to curtail for the moment in order to balance out my system because my doctor's been telling me that it's kind of bad to frequently eat raw foods due to the parasites/bacteria in them.

But anyway, I'm curious... when you say: raw food, does it mean uncooked? or unflavored? or is it like related to organic?

Many thanks! And more power!
